Reese River Trail is a 10.7-mile out-and-back hike in Nevada's Arc Dome Wilderness, part of the Austin-Tonopah Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail starts at about 7,450 feet, rising to a high point of 7,623 feet. The climb is rated hard, with a total elevation gain of 389 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at about a mile in, where the grade reaches 32%. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically June and September, when typical averages from a nearby weather station run around 76°F for highs and 35°F to 31°F for lows. That station sits roughly 1,200 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the route run cooler. The Toiyabe Crest Trail passes about a mile away, and Cow Canyon and Stone Cabin are both within a few miles. For an overnight stay, Columbine Campground is about 7 miles off.
