Broad Canyon is a 2-mile out-and-back hike in Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, within the Austin-Tonopah Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail climbs from about 6,594 feet to 7,512 feet, a total gain of 876 feet. The route is rated moderate and is natural-surfaced, so it works well for horses. Bikes are not allowed. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 85°F and September highs around 76°F, with lows near 30°F in May and 42°F in June and December. The trail is open from about June 15 to October 30. Nearby options include Jett Creek, about 2.4 miles away, and Pablo Canyon, about 5 miles off.
