Skiumah Creek is a 3.5-mile out-and-back hike in the Hungry Horse Ranger District of Flathead National Forest, in northwestern Montana. The trail climbs about 1,150 feet, from roughly 3,350 feet at the low point to about 4,470 feet at the high point. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is on natural surface, with horses allowed. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 80°F and lows near 50°F, and August is the driest month, with about seven wet days. That station sits roughly 1,300 feet lower than the trail's high point, so expect cooler temperatures on the higher ground. The hike is open year-round. Great Bear Creek and Nyack Pack Trail are both within a mile, and Rescue Creek is about a mile away. For a longer outing, Glacier National Park lies roughly 7.5 miles from the trail.
