Roderick Mountain is a hard hike of about 7 miles in the Three Rivers Ranger District of Kootenai National Forest in northwest Montana, on land managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back that rises from a low point of about 4,040 feet to a high point of about 5,925 feet, with a total elevation gain of about 1,473 feet. The route is on natural surface, and horses are allowed. The trail is open from about May 1 to November 30, and the parking area is known as Roderick Mt. TH 189. For a shorter outing, Pleasant View lies about 1.5 miles away, and Independence Creek is about 3.3 miles off. For an overnight base, Pete Creek Campground is about 7.3 miles away.
