Baldy Spring is a moderate 1.5-mile out-and-back hike in the Three Rivers Ranger District of Kootenai National Forest, in northern Montana. The trail is managed by the Forest Service, and the trip begins and ends at the Baldy Mountain TH 160-Top parking area. The climb runs from about 6,500 feet to roughly 6,530 feet, with the steepest stretch starting within the first tenth of a mile at a grade of about 28 percent. The total round-trip elevation gain is about 1,314 feet. The route is natural-surface and allows bikes, making it a practical choice for riders as well as hikers. The Forest Service keeps the trail open from May 1 through November 30, and the hike takes about an hour to complete. Mt. Baldy-Buckhorn Ridge campground sits just 0.2 miles away, and the Baldy hike lies about 1.2 miles off. Hellroaring Creek and Baldy Mountain are both within a few miles for longer outings.
