Lake Inez Hookup is an easy out-and-back hike of about 4.9 miles in the Seeley Lake Ranger District of Lolo National Forest in Montana. The trail rises about 379 feet from the 4,197-foot starting point to a high point of 4,403 feet, with the steepest stretch coming at roughly half a mile in, where the grade reaches about 10%. The round trip adds up to about 684 feet of total gain and loss. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July and August highs reach about 83°F with lows in the mid-40s, according to averages from a nearby weather station at Seeley Lake. Winters are cold, with January highs around freezing. The hike pairs well with Lake Inez Campground Complex, less than a mile away. Colt Creek and the Clearwater River are also within about a mile, and the Richmond Clearwater Loop South is roughly 2.4 miles off.
