Lake Elsina is an out-and-back hike in the Seeley Lake Ranger District of Montana's Lolo National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The route starts at 4,116 feet and climbs to 6,322 feet, with a total gain of 2,839 feet over 22.7 miles. The climb is front-loaded, and the steepest stretch comes at about 4.7 miles in, where the grade reaches 14%. The hike is rated expert, and the round trip takes about nine hours. Lake Marshall Loop lies just half a mile away, and Sawyer Cr.- Rice Ridge is about 1.3 miles off. For an overnight base, Lake Inez Campground Complex is 3.6 miles away, and Seeley Lake Campground Complex is about 4 miles away.
