Lakeside Campground (Old Alva) is a U.S. Forest Service campground in the Seeley Lake Ranger District of Lolo National Forest in Montana. It sits within the Seeley Lake Ranger District, about 7 miles from the Seeley Lake weather station, which makes it a convenient base for exploring the surrounding area. The site has vault toilets, and a fee is charged for stays. It is a simple, no-frills campsite, so plan on basic facilities rather than full services. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Seeley Lake weather station show July and August highs around 83°F with lows in the low 40s, and those months also see the fewest wet days of the year. Winters are cold, with January highs near 32°F and lows around 12°F. Several other spots are close by. Colt Creek is a hike about 0.6 miles away, and the Clearwater River offers canoeing about 0.8 miles off. Lake Inez Campground Complex and Lake Alva Campground Complex are both within about a mile and a half.
