Erickson Loop is a short, easy cross-country ski route in Massachusetts, about 1.6 miles from the town of Carlisle. The loop is an out-and-back of roughly 0.84 miles, with a steady climb that takes you from a low point of 174 feet to a high of 200 feet. The total elevation gain is 83 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.22 miles in, with a grade of about 5 percent. Winter is the natural season for this route. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Bedford show January highs around 36°F with about 8 snow days, while March still averages 6 snow days. Snow days drop to zero from May through October, when the weather warms into the 70s and 80s. Several other ski routes sit right next door, including Pine Point Loop, Corn Cob and Pond View, each about 0.1 mile away. Climbers can head to Chelmsford Lime Quarry, about 3 miles off, and paddlers can reach the Shawsheen River, about 6 miles away.
