Garrison Loop is a cross-country ski route in Massachusetts, about 2 miles from the town of Rio Vista. It is a short out-and-back, roughly half a mile long, with a total climb of about 40 feet. The route is rated hard, and the steepest part comes early, at about 3% grade. Winter is the natural season for this trail. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Bedford show January highs around 36°F and lows near 18°F, with snow on about eight days that month. By May, snow days drop to zero, and highs reach about 70°F. Several other ski routes sit close by. Woodchuck Trail and Brookside are each about 0.1 mile away, and East Farm Trail is about 0.2 mile away. For a change of pace, Chelmsford Lime Quarry, a climbing area, is about 3 miles off.
