Overlook Trail is a short, easy mountain biking route in Massachusetts, about 1.3 miles from Merrimac Terrace. The trail is an out-and-back that covers roughly 2.5 miles, with a total elevation gain of 456 feet. The climb is steepest near the 0.87-mile mark, where the grade reaches about 18 percent, and the trail reaches a high point of 229 feet before returning to the starting elevation of 152 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Marblehead show July highs around 80°F with lows near 61°F, and September still runs in the low 70s by day. The trail sits right next to a cluster of climbing areas, including Stone Tower Area about 0.1 mile away and Hawkes Pond Boulders and Anvil Boulder, each about 0.2 mile off. Mountain bikers can also ride Deep Woods Trail East, about 0.4 mile away.
