Upper Lick Creek is an out-and-back hike of about 8.2 miles in the Council Ranger District of Payette National Forest in Idaho, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises from a low point of about 5,372 feet to a high of about 7,510 feet, with a total elevation gain of about 2,138 feet. It is a hard hike, and the climb is one way, so the round trip adds roughly 4,276 feet. The trail is on natural surface, and both horses and bikes are allowed. That makes it a versatile route for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. Several other trails sit close by. Lick Creek Ridge Trail is about 1.5 miles away, and Mickey Creek Trail is about 1.9 miles away. For an overnight base, Huckleberry campground is about 3.4 miles off, and Black Lake Campground is about 8.3 miles away.
