Allison Creek is a 4.1-mile out-and-back hike in Idaho's Payette National Forest, within the Council Ranger District. The trail rises from a low point of 1,771 feet to a high of 3,671 feet, a climb of about 1,900 feet, and is rated moderate. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trailhead is named Allison Creek Trailhead, with parking at the Allison Creek site. The route is natural-surfaced and open to both horses and bikes, so riders and pack animals can join the trip. The trail is open year-round, and the closest camping is Big Bar, just 0.1 mile away. Hells Canyon, a climbing area, sits about 0.3 mile off. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at New Meadows put July and August highs around 85°F with lows in the low 40s, while winter highs stay near freezing.
