Pilgrim Loop is a 1.9-mile loop hike in Idaho's Boise National Forest, within the Idaho City Ranger District. It is a short, easy walk with an elevation gain of about 455 feet, and its shape makes it a natural outing for a morning or an afternoon. The trail starts at roughly 5,369 feet and reaches a high point of 5,434 feet, with the steepest stretch coming at about 1.5 miles. The route is rolling rather than steep, and the trail's start and end points are close enough together to make the loop a quick one-hour hike. The Forest Service manages the land, and the loop sits about 0.3 miles from Edna Creek Campground. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Lowman show July highs around 87°F and lows near 45°F, while winter highs there stay in the low 30s. Several other destinations are within a short distance. The Valley Trail and North Lamar Trail are both about 0.3 miles away, and the Valley cross-country ski area is about 0.2 miles off. For climbing, Crooked Rock lies about 1.8 miles away.
