Wagon Train is an easy 1.7-mile out-and-back hike in the Brasstown Wilderness, part of the Blue Ridge Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests in north Georgia. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail lies within designated wilderness. The route rises from about 2,693 feet to a high point of 3,109 feet, with the steepest stretch at the start, where the grade reaches about 25%. The climb is back-loaded, so the second half of the hike is gentler. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Blairsville show May highs around 76°F and October highs around 70°F, though that station sits roughly 1,200 feet lower, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. Nearby, Brasstown Bald and the Wagon Train Trail are both about 3 miles away, and Arkaquah is about 2.8 miles off. Across the line in North Carolina, Chatuge Lake is about 4.6 miles away.
