Jacks Knob is a hard hike in the Mark Trail Wilderness, part of the Blue Ridge Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests in Georgia. The route is an out-and-back of about 8.9 miles, with a steady climb from a starting elevation of about 3,530 feet to a high point of 4,558 feet. The total elevation gain is about 3,232 feet, and the trip takes roughly 4.5 hours. The trail lies within designated wilderness, and the Appalachian National Scenic Trail also passes through the area. The Forest Service manages the land. Several other destinations sit within a few miles. Brasstown Bald and the Wagon Train Trail are both about 3.4 miles away, and the A.T. Low Gap Shelter is about 3.6 miles off. Paddlers can reach the Nottely River, about 5.8 miles away.
