Miller Trek is a hard hike of about 9 miles in the Blue Ridge Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests in north Georgia, on land managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. The route also passes through Brasstown Valley Resort, and the trail surface is natural, with no horses or bikes allowed. The climb starts at about 2,245 feet and reaches a high point of 3,284 feet, with a total gain of 1,070 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 2.2 miles in, where the grade reaches 23%. The trail also drops about 1,700 feet over the course of the hike. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Hayesville, North Carolina, run to highs around 75°F in May and 79°F in September, though that station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground run cooler. Chatuge Lake is about 2.5 miles away, and the Wagon Train and Lake Chatuge hikes are each within 3 miles. Jackrabbit Mountain Campground, about 5 miles off, offers a place to stay.
