Songbird is an easy hike on the Conasauga Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests in northeast Georgia, within the Cohutta Wildlife Management Area. The trail is managed by the State Department of Natural Resources, and the trailhead is named Songbird Trailhead. The route is about 2.7 miles long, with a total elevation gain of about 133 feet. It is an out-and-back, and the climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at around 0.38 miles in, where the grade reaches about 9 percent. The trail lies on natural surface and is open year-round. Bikes and horses are not allowed. The hike starts at a low point of about 3,097 feet and climbs to about 3,197 feet. That makes it a short, low-effort outing for a day on the forest's trails. Lake Conasauga is less than half a mile away, and Grassy Mtn Tower is under a mile off. Emery Creek Trail is about 1.2 miles away, and Tear Britches is about 1.4 miles away. For an overnight stay, Jacks River Fields Campground is roughly 8 miles away.
