The Purple Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 1.45 miles long and rising from roughly 210 feet to 235 feet. It is a point-to-point route, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.36 miles in, with a 10% grade. The trail is close to the town of Brockway, about a mile away. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Groton show May highs around 66°F and September highs around 74°F, with July the warmest month at about 81°F. The hike takes about half an hour. The Ravine Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and the White Trail and Yellow Trail are within a mile. Pickwick's Preserve, a climbing area, is about 1.1 miles off.
