Moore Trail is a 9.3-mile moderate hike in Connecticut, about a mile from the town of Brockway. The route rises from a low point of 38 feet to a high of 408 feet, with the steepest stretch at about 5.6 miles in, where the grade reaches 24%. Dogs are allowed, but bikes, horses and wheelchairs are not. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Groton show May highs around 66°F and September highs around 74°F, while winter brings highs in the upper 30s and a few snowy days a month from December through February. Pickwick's Preserve, a climbing area, sits just 0.7 miles away, and the Ravine Trail and Purple Trail are both about 1.7 miles off. Paddlers can reach the Eightmile River, roughly 5 miles from the trail.
