Millington Trail is an easy loop hike in Connecticut, about 0.5 miles from the village of Millington. The route is 1.7 miles long, with an elevation gain of 76 feet, so it's a low-effort outing that fits easily into a short visit to town. The trail rises from a low point of 176 feet to a high of 398 feet, and the steepest part comes near the start, at about 0.4 miles in, with a grade of 18 percent. Because the climb is so gentle overall, it works well for anyone looking for a walk that stays close to the town. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 76°F, while winter brings highs in the upper 30s to low 40s and a few snowy days each month from December through February. Several other trails sit close by. Woodcutters Trail is about 0.2 miles away, and Vista Trail and Witch Hazel Trail are each within a mile. Paddlers can head to the Eightmile River, roughly 0.8 miles off.
