Casey's Trail is a 2.3-mile loop hike in Connecticut, about 1.7 miles from the town of Millington. The trail is rated easy, with a total elevation gain of 220 feet and a total loss of 359 feet over the course of the loop. The steepest part comes at about 1.9 miles in, where the grade reaches 15 percent. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Norwich show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 76°F, while July and August climb into the mid-80s. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the route run cooler. The trail makes an easy pairing with other outings in the area. The Eightmile River, a canoeing route, is about half a mile away, and the Witch Hazel Trail is about 0.6 miles off. The Millington Trail and Vista Trail are both within about a mile and a quarter.
