Dog Dish Boulders is a bouldering area within Castle Rock State Park in California, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits among a cluster of climbing and hiking spots, with the Castle Rock Trail and the Mrs Magoo Boulder and Mr Magoo Boulder boulders all about 0.1 mile away. The boulders here are all boulder problems, with 16 routes spread across the V0- to V10 range. The easiest is Arete at V0-, and the hardest is Gramma Crosley at V10, first climbed by Justin Ridgely. The median grade is V3, so the area suits climbers of all levels. Summer is the driest and warmest time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 81°F with only about one wet day a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-50s and rain on roughly 14 days a month. That station sits about 850 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures at the boulders run cooler. The Ridge Trail and Skyline Trail are both within a mile. Farther afield, the San Lorenzo River offers canoeing about 9 miles away.
