360 Degree Boulder is a bouldering area in Castle Rock State Park in California, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits among several other climbing areas and trails within a short distance, including The Spoon, Castle Rock Proper and Castle Rock Loop, all about 0.1 mile away, and the Castle Rock Trail. The area has five bouldering routes, all rated on the V scale from V2 to V8. The easiest are Bat Hang and The Edge at V2, and the hardest is 360 Degree Traverse at V8, a route first ascended by Chris Sharma. Sharma also did Sharma Traverse, a V4 boulder. Summer is the driest and warmest time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 81°F with only about one wet day a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-50s and rain on roughly 14 days a month. That station sits about 870 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures on the rock run cooler.
