Switchback is a short, easy mountain biking route in California, set within the Royal Gorge area of the Truckee Ranger District of Tahoe National Forest. The ride is an out-and-back of about 0.6 miles, with no elevation gain, and it lies in land managed by a non-governmental organization. The trail's low point is at 6,926 feet and the high point at 6,951 feet, so the climb is barely worth mentioning. It pairs easily with other outings in the area. Tiny Tim, a mountain biking spot, sits just 0.1 mile away, and the Rowton Peak Trail hike is about 0.2 mile off. The Power Line Boulder climbing area is 1.2 miles away, and Milton Reservoir offers lake fishing about 2.4 miles from the route.
