Lower Lola Montez Trail is a short mountain biking route in the Truckee Ranger District of Tahoe National Forest in California. The trail is an out-and-back, about half a mile long, with a low point around 6,617 feet and a high point near 6,684 feet, for a one-way climb of about 53 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Sagehen Creek put July highs around 80°F with lows near 37°F, and September still reaches the low 70s by day. That station sits a few hundred feet below the trail, so temperatures up high run a little cooler. Several other outings lie within a short drive. Lower Lola Montez and the Memorial Overland Emigrant Trail are both about a mile away, Castle Peak is about 1.3 miles off, and Lower Castle Creek offers paddling roughly 1.9 miles away.
