House Boulder is a bouldering area in the Truckee Ranger District of Tahoe National Forest in California, managed by the Forest Service. It sits close to Castle Peak, which lies just 0.1 mile away, and Treasure Chest Boulder is 0.3 mile off. The area's climbing is all bouldering, with five routes spread across the V2 to V8 range. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically June through September, when typical averages from a nearby weather station at Sagehen Creek run from highs around 72°F in June to about 80°F in July, with lows in the upper 30s. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet below the boulders, so temperatures on the rock run cooler. The routes include Outhouse (V2) and House of Pain (V4), with Fun House (V6) and Mickey's House (V8) among the harder options. Castle Valley Nordic, about 1.1 mile away, offers cross-country skiing, and Milton Reservoir, 2.3 miles off, is a lake fishing spot.
