Claim Jumper is a short, easy out-and-back mountain biking route on the Royal Gorge in the Truckee Ranger District of Tahoe National Forest, in California. The climb is gentle, with a low point at 7,020 feet and a high of 7,178 feet, and the total trip is about 0.86 miles. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 82°F with lows in the low 40s, while winter brings highs in the low 40s and about 11 wet days a month. The Claim Jumper Bike Route starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Aster route is 0.2 mile off. Climbers can head to Power Line Boulder at 0.8 mile, and anglers will find Milton Reservoir about 1.6 miles away.
