Claim Jumper is a short, easy mountain biking route in California's Tahoe National Forest, within the Truckee Ranger District and the Royal Gorge area. It is a 0.78-mile out-and-back that gains about 90 feet, rising from a low point of 6,922 feet to a high of 7,020 feet. The most comfortable months for riding are summer and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs of about 73°F in June to 74°F in September, with only a couple of wet days a month. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet below the route, so temperatures here run a bit cooler. Two other mountain biking routes, Switchback and Aster, lie about 0.2 miles away. Power Line Boulder, a climbing area, is under a mile off, and Milton Reservoir, about 2 miles away, offers lake fishing.
