Sugar Lake is a short, easy hike in California's Russian Wilderness, within the Scott River Ranger District of Klamath National Forest. The trail is about 0.6 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 29 feet, and it makes an out-and-back trip from the low point at 5,869 feet to the high point at 5,913 feet. The Forest Service manages the land. The route is natural-surfaced and sits entirely within designated wilderness, so it is a compact outing that fits easily into a day spent exploring the surrounding lakes and trails. Little Duck Lake lies about 1.2 miles away, and Bingham Lake and Eaton Lake are each roughly 1.9 miles off. For an overnight stay, Trail Creek campground is about 5 miles away.
