Horseshoe is a 2.9-mile out-and-back hike in California's Russian Wilderness, part of the Scott River Ranger District of Klamath National Forest. The trail rises from about 5,659 feet to about 6,391 feet, a climb of 714 feet, and is rated easy. The Forest Service manages the land. The route is a natural-surface trail that makes a straightforward day in the wilderness. Eaton Lake sits just 0.1 mile away, and Horse Range Creek and Little Duck Lake are both within a mile, so it's easy to string several short outings together. For an overnight stay, Idlewild campground is about 6.5 miles away, and Trail Creek campground is about 6.9 miles away. Paddlers can head to French Creek, roughly 4.9 miles off.
