Beardsley Dam is a Forest Service campground in the Summit Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest in California. It sits within the national forest's boundaries, and the Forest Service manages the land. The site has flush toilets, and a fee is charged for stays. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Calaveras Big Trees show July highs around 81°F with lows near 56°F and only about one wet day in the month. That station sits roughly 1,260 feet lower than the campground, so temperatures at the dam run cooler. Teleli Pulaya campground is about 1.7 miles away, and Fraser Flat campground is about 2.8 miles off. The Straw hike and the 04N12-SNOW TRAIL are both within about 3 miles.
