Fraser Flat is a Forest Service campground on the South Fork Stanislaus River in the Mi-Wok Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest, about 25 miles from the New Melones Dam weather station. The site has two campsites, a vault toilet and two fishing piers. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 79°F and October highs around 80°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. The closest places to explore include the Circle and Straw hikes, about a mile away, and the Teleli Pulaya and Beardsley Dam campgrounds, both within 3 miles.
