MG High Mtn Loop is a moderate 5.8-mile out-and-back hike in the Bayou Ranger District of the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest in Arkansas. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is on natural surface. It starts at about 1,050 feet and reaches a high of 1,280 feet, with a total climb of about 1,109 feet and the steepest stretch at around 0.86 miles, where the grade reaches about 15%. The trail is open to both horses and bikes, so riders and riders on horseback can plan on it. It makes a good base for exploring the surrounding network of short trails, including MG High Mtn Loop B, MG Black Oak Ridge Spur NW and Mg High Mtn Loop A, all within about a mile. Spring and fall are the most comfortable seasons to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show October and April are the most comfortable. The station is not far from the place, so its figures are a fair guide. Snow is not part of the typical winter there. Moccasin Gap Campground is about 2.4 miles away and Long Pool Campground about 3.1 miles. For paddling, Indian Creek is about 5.8 miles off.
