Overcup is a hard hike in the Bayou Ranger District of the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest in Arkansas, about 5 miles from the trailhead. The route is an out-and-back that climbs from a starting point of about 1,538 feet to a high point of 1,585 feet, with a total elevation gain of 1,768 feet over the round trip. The steepest stretch comes at about 2.3 miles in, where the grade reaches 31 percent. The trail is natural-surface and not accessible. Bikes are not allowed. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is open year-round. Plan for about 2.5 hours on the ground. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 66°F in April to 68°F in October, while July and August average highs near 87°F. Nearby, Sycamore and Deans Ridge are both hikes within about 4 miles. Bayou Bluff Campground and the Bayou Bluff Trail sit about 4.8 miles away.
