Cheese Roof is a sport climbing area in the Powder River Ranger District of Bighorn National Forest in Wyoming, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing areas, with Runaway Truck Ramp, Domestic Violence Wall and Grand Parade all about 0.1 mile away. The climbing here is all sport, and the routes run from about 5.10c up to 5.13b/c. The median grade is 5.12a/b. Among the named routes are Who Dunnit? (5.10c), Cheese Sauce (5.10d) and DA ILLA PILLA (5.13a). Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Tensleep, which sits about 1,400 feet lower, show July highs around 88°F and lows near 57°F.
