The Ice Plant is a climbing area in the Powder River Ranger District of Bighorn National Forest in Wyoming, managed by the Forest Service. It sits in a cluster of climbing walls, with Raven Wall, Circus Wall and Wall of Denial all about 0.1 mile away. Eleven sport climbing routes are listed here, graded from 5.9 to 5.12a. The easiest is Ghost of Richard at 5.9, and the hardest is Super X-Ray Spectacles at 5.12a, both first ascents by Charlie Kardaleff. Ice Station Zebra, at 5.10c, is the median-grade route. The area's climbing is all sport, so it works well for those who prefer bolted routes. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical July highs reach about 88°F with lows near 57°F, based on averages from a nearby weather station at Tensleep. Winter brings frequent snow days, with January highs around 37°F and lows near 15°F. Leigh Creek Campground is about 1.8 miles away, and Boulder Park Campground is about 4.7 miles away. Salt Lick Trail is about 3.6 miles off.
