Observation Peak is an easy out-and-back hike in Wyoming's Caribou-Targhee National Forest, within the Palisades Ranger District. The trail is about 2.3 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 741 feet, and it rises from a low point of 9,336 feet to a high point of 9,918 feet. The route is open year-round, and the Forest Service manages the land. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows both horses and bikes, so it works for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. The Observation Peak Trail lies about a mile away, and North Indian Pass and Coburn Creek Trail are each within about a mile and a half. For an overnight stay, Wolf Creek Campground is roughly 5.9 miles off.
