2 Bridge Buttress is a climbing area in New River Gorge National Park and Preserve in West Virginia, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots and trails, so it works well as a stop in a day of exploring the park's boulders and rock faces. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 75°F and September highs around 78°F, with lows in the 40s and 50s. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the buttress, so temperatures up high run a little cooler. Several climbing areas and a trail lie within about a tenth of a mile, including Jaws Boulder, Bridge Boulders and the Bridge Buttress Extension Trail. Burnwood Trail is about half a mile away.
