The Moe Area is a bouldering area in West Virginia, about half a mile from the community of Ames Heights. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Interp Boulders, Tuggin' Shack and Ronski Feint all within about a tenth of a mile. The Burnwood Trail also passes close by, making it easy to pair a climb with a walk. The area is a bouldering destination, with seven routes listed, all of them boulders. The grades run from V1 to V6, with the hardest being Stupid's Corner and The Moe at V6. The easiest is I Got Nothin' at V1, and Flo Ho is a V3. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 75°F and September highs around 78°F, with lows in the upper 40s. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the Moe Area, so temperatures here run a little cooler. Other climbing is close at hand, including Bridge Area about 0.2 miles away. The Hawks Nest Connector Trail is about 0.3 miles off. For time on the water, Manns Creek is roughly 9 miles away.
