The Ogre is a climbing area in the Wenatchee River Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest in Washington, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among several other climbing spots, with Hogwarts and Lower Castle both about 0.1 mile away. The area has eight routes, six of them sport and two trad, with grades ranging from 5.10b to 5.12-. The hardest is Monstrosity, a 5.12- sport route first climbed by Alex Steele and Danh Ngo. The median grade is 5.10d, so climbers looking for a challenge can find it here. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Leavenworth show July and August highs around 87°F with lows near 50°F and only about three wet days a month. Winter is cold, with January highs around 34°F and lows near 19°F. The Tumwater Penstock Trail is about 0.9 mile away and the Tumwater Mountain Trail about 1.7 miles. For an overnight stay, Bridge Creek Group Site is about 4.1 miles off.
