Eight-Mile Rock is a climbing area in the Wenatchee River Ranger District of Washington's Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. The Forest Service manages the surrounding land, and the area sits within a cluster of other climbing spots, with The Carnival Boulders just 0.1 mile away and Carnival Crag about 0.2 mile off. The routes here range from trad and mixed styles to a single sport route, with grades from 5.7+ up to 5.12b. Classic Crack, a trad route first climbed by Mr. Beckey, and Doin the Dishes, a sport route first climbed by Dick Cilley, are among the named options. The hardest route, Doin the Dishes, is a sport climb at 5.12b. Summer is the warmest stretch, with typical July and August highs around 87°F and lows near 50°F at a nearby weather station in Leavenworth. That station sits several hundred feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures here run a bit cooler. Winter is cold, with typical January highs near 34°F and lows around 19°F. The Eightmile Group Site is 0.4 mile away, and Bridge Creek Group Site is 0.7 mile off. Hikers can find Bruce's Boulder Trail about 2.2 miles away.
