Off Duty Area is a climbing area in the Wenatchee River Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest in Washington, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among several other climbing areas, including Duty Dome, Warrior Wall and the Duty Dome - Warrior Wall - Peek-a-boo Area, all within about a tenth of a mile. The area has eight routes, with sport climbing the most common style. Grades run from 5.7 to 5.10d, and the hardest route is A Shade of Jade at 5.10d. Among the sport routes are Peckin' Time at 5.7 and Off Duty at 5.10a. Mixed and trad routes round out the mix. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Leavenworth show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 78°F, while July and August average about 87°F. That station sits roughly 1,200 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures up high run cooler.
