The Farmhouse is a bouldering area in Vermont's Manchester Ranger District, part of the Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forests. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area sits among several other climbing spots, including Balance Rock and Debris Field Right, both about 0.1 mile away. The climbing here is all bouldering, with eight routes spread across the V0 to V2-3 range. The easiest are Hatchling and Sapling at V0-, and the hardest is Trillium at V2-3. The routes are short and sit close together, so the area works well for a quick session rather than a long day on the rocks. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Peru, Vermont, run to highs around 75°F in July with lows near 56°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. Nearby, the Spruce Peak hike is about 1.3 miles away, and Bromley Shelter offers camping at about 1.5 miles. The Appalachian Trail and Long Trail pass within about 2 miles, and Hapgood Pond is roughly 5 miles off for fishing.
