East Texas Rim is a 4.5-mile out-and-back hike in Utah's Manti-La Sal National Forest, within the Monticello Ranger District. It climbs from about 7,376 feet to about 7,754 feet, a gain of 417 feet, and is rated hard. The trail is on natural surface and open year round, and it is managed by the Forest Service. The route allows both horses and bikes, making it a versatile option for riders and riders. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the sweet spots. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 71°F in May and 77°F in September, while July highs average about 89°F. That station sits roughly 1,200 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the rim run cooler. West Rim Texas Canyon is about a mile away, and Lyman Canyon Overlook and Arch Canyon Overlook Trail are both within 1.6 miles. Texas Trail lies about 2.2 miles off.
