Arch Canyon Overlook Trail is a 4.5-mile out-and-back hike in the Monticello Ranger District of Manti-La Sal National Forest in southeastern Utah. The trail climbs from a low of about 7,500 feet to a high of about 7,930 feet, a rise of roughly 945 feet, and is rated moderate. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is marked as open year-round. The trail is on natural surface, and both horses and bikes are allowed, which makes it a flexible choice for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. Plan for a full day, with the climb broken into two parts as you go up and back. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 77°F, while July highs reach about 89°F. That station sits well below the trail, so expect temperatures on the higher ground to run a little cooler. Several other trails lie within a few miles. Woodenshoe Road is about 1.5 miles away, East Texas Rim is 1.6 miles off, and Kigalia Canyon Trail is 1.7 miles away. For mountain biking, Arch Canyon is about 3.3 miles from the trail.
