Poe Run Path is an easy, out-and-back hike in Tennessee, about 1.5 miles from the town of Summit. The route is roughly 2 miles long with a steady climb from about 810 feet to 914 feet, and the total gain is 288 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.9 miles in, where the grade reaches 6 percent. The most comfortable time to visit is fall, when typical averages from a nearby weather station show October highs around 74°F with lows near 51°F and about eight wet days in the month. That station sits several hundred feet lower than the path, so temperatures on the trail run a bit cooler. The Poe Run Overlook lies just 0.1 mile away, and the Dogwood Ridge Trail and the ADA Loop are both within half a mile. For paddling, Wolftever Creek is about 3.8 miles off.
