Tylers's is a hard out-and-back hike in Oregon's Deschutes National Forest, within the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District. The trail is managed by the Forest Service, and it is a long, steep route that gains about 1,500 feet in elevation on the way to its high point of 5,576 feet. The climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.96 miles into the hike, where the grade reaches 14%. The total round-trip gain and loss are each about 1,750 feet, and the hike covers roughly 13 miles. Bikes are allowed on this natural-surface trail, but horses are not. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sunriver show July highs around 84°F with lows near 41°F, while temperatures up high run cooler than that station's figures. The Deschutes River Trail, a mountain biking route, lies about 0.6 miles away, and the Benham Falls Overlook is roughly 1.8 miles off. Climbers can head to Widgi Creek, about 4.5 miles away, and paddlers to the Deschutes River, about 9.5 miles away.
