Larsen is a 5.5-mile out-and-back hike in the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District of Deschutes National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is rated moderate, with a total climb of about 508 feet and a steepest stretch of about 7% at roughly 1.4 miles in. The route starts at about 4,780 feet and reaches a high point of about 4,806 feet. The surface is natural, and bikes are allowed. Horses are not. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Sunriver weather station run to highs around 84°F in July, with lows near 41°F. That station sits about 600 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the hike run a little cooler. Tiddly Winks, a mountain biking spot, is just 0.1 mile away, and Funner is about half a mile off. Funner (Cowbell) is a hike about a mile away. Climbers can head to Widgi Creek, about 4.4 miles out.
