Tunnel of Love is a short, easy out-and-back hike in southern Oregon, about 1.7 miles from Klamath Falls. The trail is just under a mile long, with a total elevation gain of about 27 feet, so it's a gentle walk that fits easily into a day spent exploring the area around town. The route starts at about 4,848 feet and reaches a high point of 4,879 feet, with the steepest stretch coming within the first 0.07 miles. The climb is so slight that it's easy to overlook, and the trail is best suited to a quick stop rather than a full-day outing. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Klamath Falls show July highs around 86°F with only about two wet days, while winter highs sit in the low 40s. That station sits roughly 800 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the hike run a little cooler. Several other short hikes sit right next door, including Buzzard and Meathook, each about 0.1 mile away, and Big Sky at about 0.3 mile. For climbing, Cougar Rock Boulders is about 5.8 miles off.
